AnneMarie Rizzo

AnneMarie graduated with her Bachelor’s degree Magna Cum Laude from the University of Florida. While attending the University of Florida College of Law, AnneMarie specialized in such areas of law as criminal traffic and domestic violence. AnneMarie assisted hundreds of victims of domestic violence, and was Lead Prosecutor of such cases while in her internship with the State Attorney’s Office in Gainesville.

As a former Assistant State Attorney, AnneMarie gained substantial and extensive trial experience, and is legendary for her four separate case wins in one trial week.

Annemarie excels at giving back to the community and she is highly passionate about, and involved, in her community. AnneMarie makes it a point to make sure that children involved in dependency cases have a voice in court and she has served as a Guardian ad Litem since January of 2004. Moreover, AnneMarie currently serves as Chair of the Sarasota County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Law Week Committee. Through this committee she recruits attorneys to teach high school students about the legal system. AnneMarie is also a presiding judge over Teen Court proceedings in Sarasota County.

AnneMarie has trained law enforcement officers and prosecutors in evidence based prosecution and trial advocacy. In addition, she has trained dozens of doctors at SHANDS UF, as well as many Child Protective Investigators with the State of Florida’s Department of Children and Families

Along with training other professionals, AnneMarie is constantly seeking to continue her learning and refine her skills, and has attended and completed the Advanced DUI School with the Florida Prosecutor Attorney Association, as well as the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Course sponsored by the Institute of Police Technology and Management. This course specialized in identifying driving behavior and other signs of DUI suspected impairment. AnneMarie also successfully completed the Trial Advocacy School with the National Advocacy Center, which took place at the Department of Justice in South Carolina.

AnneMarie has quickly gained an earned reputation as an aggressive and caring, as well as, tenacious attorney.
