David Haenel

David graduated from Widener University School of Law in 1999 and has been admitted to the Florida Bar since 2001. In that time, David has successfully handled DUI, criminal, and traffic cases. He has been bestowed the highest honor, “Superb”, or a 10 out of 10 rating, with the independent client and attorney review on Avvo.com, and has earned the “Rising Star” with Super Lawyers Magazine.

Before working as a defense attorney, David worked with the State Attorney’s Office, and held the prestigious title of 2004 State of Florida DUI Prosecutor of the Year.

David has trained countless law enforcement officials and prosecutors in traffic related crime, and gives lectures throughout the state on DUI and evidentiary breath testing. Furthermore, he has spoken for such noted seminars as the International Association of Chemical Testers and the Florida Breath Test Conference.

Also an author, David has penned several attorney reference books in the areas of traffic related crime and DUI, and the well- received “Florida DUI Survival Guide: A Citizen’s Protective Manual”. As an attorney who has both thrived on the prosecution and defense side of the courtroom, his contributions are substantial. As such, David is also the Vice Chair of the Florida Bar Traffic Court and Rules Committee.

Furthermore, David received his Masters of Law Degree (LLM) from SUNY Buffalo School of Law and he graduated in the top third of his class from Widener Law School. Moreover, David is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Sarasota County Bar association. David is also admitted to practice before the State Courts of New Jersey and Florida, as well as the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

David has committed his life to the understanding and practice of DUI and traffic related cases.
